Antti Nousjoki is one of the founding partners of ALA Architects, the Helsinki-based firm behind Helsinki Central Library Oodi. ALA has been one of the frontrunners of a new generation of Nordic architecture practices and has completed several major public projects, including Kilden Performing Arts Centre in Kristiansand, Norway and Kuopio and Lappeenranta City Theatres in Finland. Antti was the ALA partner in charge of the Kuopio and Oodi projects, as well as of the Courtyard Tampere City hotel completed in 2020 in Tampere, Finland. He currently concentrates on two of the firm’s international projects: the new campus buildings of Estonian Business School and La Ruche - the new learning center of Université Lumière Lyon 2. In spring 2015 Antti was a visiting professor at Columbia University and Washington University in St. Louis’ Helsinki International Semester together with the other ALA partners.
